A. Q. Is the Bountea System difficult to make and use?
A. While brewing Bountea initially takes a little more time and thought than ordinary fertilizers, it repays that investment ten-fold.  Brewing Bountea and adding its components, is simple and straightforward.  See Brewing Bountea Compost Tea.  Treating your garden and plants with Bountea is easily integrated into your normal watering schedule.  With Bountea, you are in total control of when and how you use the system.

Q. How should I start using the Bountea Growing System?
A. We created the 4-Gal Bountea Brew Kit to get you going fast.  It has everything you need: an aerobic Brewer, Alaska Humisoil, Bountea Bioactivator, Root Web and Marine Mineral Magic M3.    It contains enough ingredients to treat a 1000 sq ft garden (25 ft x 40 ft) at least three times.  With the Bountea Brew Kit, you can start revitalizing your soil and garden immediately.

Q. How is the Bountea Growing System different from other compost teas?
A. The Bountea System has been tested in the field for 20 years with extraordinary results.  See John Evans' World Records.  Bountea uses only the highest quality concentrated ingredients, including a special, ethically harvested microbial starter, Alaska Humisoil (rather than vermicompost).  The Bountea Bioactivator includes effective proprietary ingredients discovered by John Evans.  Every component of the Bountea system has been formulated to work together synergistically.

Q. Is the Bountea Compost Tea System organic?
A. All components of the Bountea Growing System are natural and organic and comply with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Organic Program (NOP).  Additionally, Alaska Humisoil and Root Web are registered for organic crop use with the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA).

Q. Do I need to use any other soil additives with the Bountea System?
A. While the Bountea System will create increased growing results on any soil, it is suggested that you also use good organic cultivation methods.  See Gardening Tips.  Adding Humisoil and SuperStart for Plants to your soil will increase fertility and production.  Chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides actively harm soil microbes and should be avoided if possible.

Q. How often do I need to apply Bountea Compost Tea?
A. On new, untreated or toxic ground, start with an application of SuperStart for Plants. Then apply Bountea Compost Tea every week for the first four weeks. For normal organic soil, apply every two to four weeks for the growing season. Bountea cannot be over-applied. The effects of the Bountea Compost Tea System are cumulative. You will find increased benefits the following season.

Q. How much ground does one gallon of Bountea treat?
A. Each gallon of Bountea will treat between 250 (10 ft x 25 ft) and 500 (20 ft x 25 ft) square feet of garden. On lawns, can use one gallon of Bountea for every 800 square foot of grass (20 ft x 40 ft).

Q. How long does it take the Bountea Compost Tea System to work?
A. The Bountea System works immediately to invigorate the life of your soil.  However, unlike chemical fertilizers, the results for plants may not be apparent for three to six weeks. Then you will notice faster, stronger growth and extensive root systems. Results will be even better next season.

Q. How does the Bountea Compost Tea System increase pest and disease resistance?
A. Stronger, healthier plants naturally resist disease and stress; they have more efficient “immune” systems. Pests are attracted to weaker plants that have a lower brix level (a measure of sugars and minerals in the cells). Bountea increases the brix level of cells, while Root Web has beneficial fungi that actively fight off harmful strains of fungi. Using Bountea as a foliar spray coats the leaves of plants with microbes that protect the plant.
